Site Inspection
We’ve been providing customized advice and alternative energy across Western Canada for 15 years.
The first thing we’ll do when you call us is ask you some questions about your needs, budget, and location before we visit you to do a thorough site inspection and determine which solutions will best suit your situation.
There are a few key points that we look at when determining suitability:
Roof Orientation or Available Land Space
Solar panels can be installed on rooftops of all kinds, or on ground-mounted frames or poles. Each location is unique, and we will assess your site to determine what is best for you.
Roof-mounted solar panels take advantage of your existing structures and are often the first choice for homes and businesses, but depending on how your structure and roof faces are oriented, along with the surrounding environment, there may be even better or more productive options.
We will help you to determine the best installation options for your space.
Roof Angle and Efficiency
Solar panels produce different amounts of electricity in different seasons depending on the angle that they are installed at.
We’ll need to evaluate your property to determine if a mounted system, or even one that allows for adjustment throughout the year, might be in your best interest.
Shading Analysis
Both natural features of the landscape and manmade structures, such as chimneys, can cast shade over solar panels, impeding energy generation.
Using specialized equipment, with drone photography, 3D site-modeling, shade analysis software, and our own years of experience, we’ll forecast your light intake based on the shadows cast over the course of a day and seasonally.
Weather Patterns
Cloudy weather and snow coverage can impact your solar production, but if your solar system has been thoughtfully designed and properly leverages different inverter types, panel placement, tilt, orientation and other factors, you can still get lots of power.
We assess all of these factors and figure out what will work best in each situation.
Roof Condition
Another key factor when assessing a site for solar potential is the roof. Your solar panel system can be removed if you ever need to redo your roof, but if you know that your roof is getting towards the end of its life, we recommend handling that before a roof-mounted solar system is installed, especially since solar panels are designed to last 40+ years. The best time to install solar panels in right on top of a new roof.
Fulfilling your unique needs.
Customized Solutions
Your property and your energy needs are unique, and that requires a custom approach and a tailored solution. Fortunately, those are our specialty.
We’ll explore not only rooftop systems, but also free-standing ground- and pole-mounted systems, and we will work with you to design custom engineered energy systems as well. There is almost always an alternative energy solution that will work for you.
All you need to do is ask.
