Solar Panel Options

Solar panels are the most visible portion of your solar power system and the part that most people think of first when they’re considering solar power. There are a few different types, and depending on your system, location, and energy needs, we’ll work with you to find the best option.

Monocrystalline Solar Panels

Monocrystalline, or single-crystal panels, are made from wafers of pure silicon and are generally identifiable by their pure black appearance. Monocrystalline panels are extremely long-lasting and are the most efficient of commercially available panels, so these are what we use for all of our installations.

Polycrystalline Social Panels

Polycrystalline panels use a mixing pot of silicon crystals that are poured into a mold. They aren’t as efficient as monocrystalline panels and they are a bit larger, so they are not commonly used today outside of small RV or recreational systems.

Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) Panels

PERC solar panels are a recent development, and an attempt to further improve monocrystalline technology for increased efficiency. They have a passivation layer that reflects light back to the cell, which maximizes how much solar radiation is absorbed, and allows for absorption of larger wavelengths. This high level of efficiency means they can produce more power in the same amount of physical space.

Battery Storage

Batteries are a must-have for anyone intending to live entirely independently of the electrical grid.

Don’t know if you’re grid-connected or not? See our FAQs for more info.

The sun won’t shine every day. If you want to be able to run on solar power, even when you aren’t actively collecting it, a battery system is the best way to make sure you still have power.

Did you know there are rebates between $5,000 and $75,000 available for batteries as well? Learn about BC Hydro’s Solar Battery Rebates.

Excess power you collect that you don’t use immediately will be stored in your batteries to be used when you need it most.

Our systems use high quality batteries that have undergone thorough testing and quality assessment procedures, and they come with excellent warranties. We want you to be confident that your power system will do what it was made to do, for the long haul.

Solar power gives you protection against energy costs, but if you don’t have batteries as a component of your system, your solar panels will automatically shut-down in the case of a power outage for safety reasons. If batteries aren’t right for you, but you want to have back-up power in those critical moments when the power is out, you’ll want to consider back-up generators.

Back-up generators are a great option for anyone who needs to guarantee that critical items have consistent access to power, whether it’s to power critical computer systems, security and alarms, or climate control. We can scale your back-up system to give you as much coverage as you need.

We supply and install a range of EV chargers for homes and businesses that can be integrated with your solar system.

If you’re driving an electric vehicle, there’s no better way to cut down on energy costs than to pair a solar installation with an EV charger. Our charging stations are fast, efficient, attractive and user friendly.
